Science-driven. Purpose-led.
Founded at the University of Alberta, Egeiro brings together world-class scientists united by a single mission: treating Alzheimer’s Disease.
- Our History
Built on decades of discovery
Egeiro Pharmaceuticals was founded by Drs. Jack Jhamandas, Lorne Tyrrell and Michael Houghton in 2018 to commercialize the result of a successful collaboration between notable scientists from different academic disciplines at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Led by Dr. Jhamandas, a neurologist and neuroscientist, in collaboration with Dr. Tyrrell and Sir Houghton of the Li Ka Shing Institute of Virology and Li Ka Shing Applied Virology Institute, respectively and a strong team of drug computational drug designers, medicinal chemists, biochemists and neuroscientists, Egeiro is working on developing a drug that can effectively treat Alzheimer’s Disease (AD).
